Pura Vida, Part 1: Festival of Lights

Paul Carter goes to Costa Rica in search of Pura Vida

Hi there, Paul Carter here.

If you know me at all, you know I’m not much into reTirement. I’m into reFirement. That means for me that at least once per year I go to a foreign country such as two years ago I went to the Dominican Republic. Last year I went to Nicaragua. This year I’m in Costa Rica. And I expect to be for the next three months, because I want to experience a different culture. Latin American cultures appeal to me as a source of reFirement.

What can we learn about reFirement from Pura Vida?

So I’m in Costa Rica right now. And the reason I chose to be here is because of a concept called Pura Vida. And for the next few videos we’ll be exploring what Costa Ricans mean by Pura Vida.

Tonight we happen to be here on festival night here in San Isidro. So stick around, and let’s find out what Pura Vida is all about.

If you like what you see here,…
